Global Forum in Bioethics in Research Best Poster Award

At the end of November I attended my first conference on bioethics: the Wellcome Trust Global Forum on Bioethics in Research (GFBR) in Bangkok, Thailand. This year the GFBR focused on “the ethics of alternative clinical trial designs and methods in lower and middle income country (LMIC) research.” This was one of the most interesting meetings I have attended, with only about 100 people and a disproportionately high representation of researchers, policy makers, and ethicists from LMIC. In addition to meeting so many fascinating people from diverse academic and regional backgrounds, I was thrilled to win the best poster award for presenting our work on “Quantifying ethical tradeoffs for vaccine efficacy trials during severe epidemics (in review, pre-print)!”
